... we are raised and given the parameters of " its better to give than receive ".
... yes .. it's true .. except for those scoundrels, rascals, con men & occassionally women ... all fulfilling the role of outright thieves .. as they attempt to con you out of a few hundred dollars for their cute "babies" .. photos of puppies' Yorkies, Maltese, Bulldogs, etc .. which they post on many phony websites ..enticing you to wire money to them for the purchase of these cute critters.
... yes ..it is better to give than receive; except for the fact that you will be giving to a total stranger in another country ... who falsely promises to have a third party ... Pet Air, Air Animal, Worldwide Pet, Starwood, etc ... send you your alleged and falsely promised purchase.
... get real folks; you can't buy an established breed for several hundred dollars, or several hundred euros in today's global market.
... if you send the initial and requested several hundred dollars, euros, etc by wire transfer, you are only setting yourself up to encourage the scammers to request more for alleged veterinary tests, phony insurance, and transportation costs.
... the "bait & hook" in their con game is the initial below market price for a recognizalbe and cute breed of dog.
... yes ... it's better to give than receive; yet you should know the recipient.

Parrots need CITES permits .. both export & import permits are required
. our front desk reports increased scam activity in the area of purchasing parrots over the internet .. with the expectation of Air Animal being the pet shipper of choice for the scammers. Nothing could be further from the truth.
.. in order to move a parrot from one country to another, the exporter is required to obtain a CITES export permit from the originating country, and you as the purchaser/importer are required to obtain a CITES import permit from the agency in your country responsible for the issuing of CITES permits.
... as all parrots are on the endangered species list .. therefore .. parrots do not move legitimately from one country to another with the appropriate CITES permits.
.... for parrots entering the United States, there is a mandatory 30 day quarantine; requiring both a CITES import permit, along with a permit from the USDA for the entry of the pet.
..... so, when the scammer who has been communicating with you via e mail sharing with you pretty pictures of parrots, you may wish to ask for the seller to scan the CITES export permit from the country of origin, so that you may apply for the CITES import permit from the Fish & Wildlife Service ...www.fws.gov .. here in the United States.
..... when you are told ... " all the papers are in order " .. simply ask for them to be scanned to you in the e mail ... and lo and behold .. there are nbo " papers ".

a picture is worth a thousand words .. & .. little else
.. you've heard the saying ... " a picture is worth a thousand words ". It is true, yet today, scammers who ply the internet will have you believe their "thousand words" ... that if .. you wire money to a total stranger in another country, who has posted photographs of cute puppies (bulldogs, yorkies, and maltese to mention a few) on their web page, you will receive your alleged puppy purchase from companies like Air Animal ... who incicentally have no business relationship with the scammers.
... yes .. " a picture is worth a thousand words " .. and that's all you will receive from the scammers who ply the internet.
